I had a fantastic experience at this charming hostel in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, especially during the Basque festival that was taking place. The multilingual Sabina did an amazing job managing the place, catering to different guests and keeping everything running smoothly. The shutters in the room were a great feature, helping to keep the space cool.
I would have preferred a healthier breakfast option, as the carb-heavy meal provided didn't quite meet my dietary preferences. Additionally, the property didn't seem to prioritize the needs of pilgrims, with limited amenities such as towels, hand soap, and shower gel.

Stayed at this hotel for a week while hiking the Camino de Santiago. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the blankets kept us warm throughout the chilly nights. The patio at the back was a lovely spot to relax, and we appreciated having a place to hang our wet clothes. The friendly management made us feel welcome, and the take-away breakfast was delicious. Compared to other hostels along the Camino, this hotel definitely stands out.
Would recommend this hotel.

Great location and hospitality within reason. The hostess was very kind and friendly, making us feel welcome. The bed was comfy and the atmosphere was good. However, it was overpriced. The shower was uncomfortable with only a curtain instead of a door. Despite these drawbacks, I would still recommend this place to others.

The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect for my purposes. It was conveniently situated at the very start of the Camino, making it ideal for pilgrims like myself. the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. One particular advantage I enjoyed was the option to have dinner and breakfast onsite, saving me the hassle of finding food elsewhere.
One aspect that I found slightly inconvenient was the limited number of showers available, especially considering the number of guests. It would have been better if there were separate showers for men and women, providing more privacy.

I stayed at Gite D'Etape Zuharpeta Randonneur Pelerin Restaurant Basque for my pilgrimage in a double room. The location was quiet and the rooms and bathrooms were plain but clean. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. They served a delicious pilgrim dinner and breakfast. The small patio out the back of the bar area was a nice touch, and the owner was friendly and helpful. I definitely plan to go back!
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

The hostel had a great location, just a short walk from where the Camino starts. The owner was friendly and helpful, offering useful information about the area. I particularly enjoyed sitting in the small patio area at the back of the bar, which was exclusively for guests.
That the shower on our floor would often clog up, which was inconvenient. the room was quite cold during our stay.

The dinner looked fantastic and the hostess was accommodating in changing reservations. The guests were respectful and the hostess wouldn't tolerate bad behavior. She was also accommodating to those without reservations. Sabine, the host, was absolutely fantastic, managing to accommodate me even though they were fully booked. The place is peaceful and still close to everything. The owner was friendly and helpful with a small guest-only patio.
Felt more than at home, no complaints.
